The getting ready part of the day was so sweet, it consisted of Katie, her sister in law/Maid of honor, and her mother in the bride room getting ready and sharing stories. The morning was so relaxed that before Katie even headed to the Sonnet House she was able to have breakfast with a friend!
Can we just take a moment to say what a STUNNING bride Katie was? Her dress was a Paloma Blanca design that just complimented her so well. We couldn’t get over the scalloped neck line. It was so delicate and beautiful! The photos of her getting ready are some of my favorites. The light coming through the window as she takes in the final hours before becoming a wife. (swoon!)
The Sonnet house was the PERFECT setting for the day. This was only our second wedding at the venue and already we have completely fallen in love with it. The hospitable staff had the house decorated with blush and mint floral designs just for the day. Once again every time we turned around a member of the house was there to ask us if we needed anything and to fill us in what was happening next- it just made the entire day run so smoothly. Every bride’s dream!
Katie met her Groom under a hundred plus year old oak tree that had been on the property since before the house was even built. Ellen, the facility manager of the venue informed us before we arrived that the oak tree was in full bloom despite it only being April. We knew we had to take advantage of this and have some of their first photos under it. It created the perfect shade for their meeting.
We can safely say that this bridal party was one of the funnest we had ever worked with. Katie and Jeremy decided to only have one bridesmaid and one groomsmen along with the flower girl and ring bearer, needless to say it was very relaxed and fun as the ring bearer and flower girl were absolutely precious and not only entertained everyone during photo time but they took some adorable shots as well. We were even able to get each family an individual photo since they were there for the occasion.
The ceremony was gorgeous and intimate gathering of friends and family in front of the outdoor fireplace. Strung up on the mantel was a beautiful garland of eucalyptus.
Some of our absolute favorite photos of Katie and Jeremy are directly after their I do’s as they came in front of the Sonnet House.
Just like earlier parts of the day, the reception was just as much fun as the rest of the day. Jeremy and Katie had the sweetest first dance and the DJ got everyone out on the dance floor. Just look at those guest having fun busting a move on the dance floor.
Truly, we won’t be forgetting the wonderful day that we had with this special couple. We wish This Katie + Jeremy a lifetime of happiness and wedded bliss as they take on the world together!
