It’s finally here!!! Lauren and Chris’s destination wedding in Key West is finally here on the blog!
How lucky are we that it is our job that we got to go to fly out to Key West for a few days and spend it looking out over the ocean with a beautiful couple and their loving families! Lauren’s sweet family put us right on the beach! like literally the first couple of photos that you see are not only the reception cabana but also our view from our sliding glass doors. Iguanas were everywhere! we managed to make friends with a couple of the little guys and got some photos of them chilling right next to our cabin.
Anyway! On to the good part.
That morning Michael and I got up very early and searched the beach for something fun from the shore line that we could use when photographing her Bridal detail, We managed to find a large piece of coral that washed up on the beach and it was perfect for some extra texture with her delicate details.
Lauren and her sisters got ready that morning after breakfast at Ciao Hound and since our room was right off the beach we suggested that Lauren put her dress and jewelry on in our cabin. Aren’t her cowboy boots adorable with the wedding gown? We can’t get over how beautiful of a bride that Lauren makes.
After some getting ready shots of Chris, we headed over to the neighboring resort Cheeca’s Lodge and Spa (where they had their rehearsal dinner) for the first look under some crisscrossed palm trees. It was perfect!
The Ceremony was held under the three palm trees that settled next to the sea, and some of the sweet moments from the ceremony were Chris’s Grandmother bringing me her precious late husband’s pastor manual. I took a photo as she was explaining to me the importance of the book as well as a few detail shots of the book. Lauren also had their grandmother’s straighten out her train before walking down the aisle. Together after their vows and before the kiss Lauren and Chris tied together three strands of rope representing Ecclesiastes 4:12. What an honor to be able to capture these treasured memories
Out of all of the moments I think my favorite will always be that on their way back down the aisle after their first kiss as husband and wife, everyone in attendance threw little beach balls in celebration!
I am still in disbelief at the gorgeous photos we got of Lauren and Chris directly after ceremony as the sun was setting. They really couldn’t have been more perfect. Take me back anytime!
The reception was so beautiful and intimate! Lauren’s family and friends put it all together, they shopped for months to find the perfect decor for the tables and had multi flavored popcorn from Atlanta as favors. Flavors such as: Birthday cake, Mt. Dew, Cookies and Cream, and Cotton Candy.
They also told us that since they vacation in Key West occasionally they made a point to search out the BEST Key Lime Pies that Key West had to offer! They didn’t disappoint! Just looking at the photos again made me want to try them all over again.
We could not be more thankful for this newly formed family and how they trusted us with these photos, not only did we do Lauren and Chris’s engagement session but we also did Lauren’s Bridals and then we were treated to this destination paradise wedding. We have the best clients in the world!
We know this is just the beginning for these two in their adventures- as they start this crazy life together, but we are probably ALMOST as excited for them as they are for the future! We can’t wait to see how they grow together in love and trust during the years to come.
Courtney + Michael xoxo
