Linley and Matt’s day was possibly the sweetest day we have ever had the honor of being a part of.
It is old southern folklore that when you see a cardinal ( or it lands near by) it is someone visiting you from heaven- listening in or guiding you on occasion. Normally I am one to put much thought into such folklore, however, I do believe that God can allow signs and comfort for you in a time of need or importance.
I was getting ready all of Linley’s Bridal detail as I was just about to walk into the closet in the hall and grab Linley’s dress for photos, a bright red cardinal shot up next to the window and was fluttering around the window aggressively trying to get our attention. A bridesmaid and I just looked at each other and paused for a moment. What a sweet gift from Linley’s late father. That in itself would have been an amazing start to the day but for the entire three hours that we were at the house getting ready this little guy would not stop trying to get in, he even switched windows when he saw activity in another room. I can’t even explain the feeling you have when something this spectacular happens over and over again for hours. He wanted it KNOWN that he was there. The photos of the cardinal below are all from our time as Linley got ready. The moment she left the house the little guy flew away.
Linley also included in her precious wedding details such as her father’s bible, on her bouquet his Fireman pins, she even had two of her father’s friends walk her in their uniforms- saluting one another half way down the aisle.
There were many emotions through the day, not one dry eye during the ceremony and first dances. We just treasure our time that we had with this sweet family.
StoneBridge Farms was as lovely as ever- the weather was PERFECT and we were able to have some beautiful shots of the just married couple on the bridge and in front of some gorgeous Azelea’s. Truly the icing on the cake of a wonderful day
Linley and Matt’s families treated us like we were part of their family and a few days after the wedding Linley’s mom called me to thank us for our work at the wedding, and when I asked how Matt and Linley were enjoying their honeymoon in Mexico- Linley’s mother told me that the couple had facetimed her every night so far. I am telling you we only have the BEST BRIDES EVER! This family was the sweetest….
We know that Linley and Matt have so many years of happiness ahead and we are ecstatic for them and their future together!!
